Energetic Production in modern society is a key-factor, because economic and social development depend from it. Nowadays energy production is almost totally based on foxils combustibles with great domage for health and environment. For theese and other reasons, it's important to spread a better knowledge about Renewable Energy Sources amongst techicians, students, and citizens as well.

During lectures and company visits you will have the chance of learning more about upcoming and raising techologies in the field of R.E.S. The main fields you'll get in contact with are:

  • Fotovoltaic Solar: it's based on a peculiar property of some materials, the semiconductor; in fact , if properly treated, they can generate electric energy when exposed to sun radiations;
  • Solar Termal:it consists in devices containing a fluid (water or air) that produce hot water when exposed to sun radiation; it's possible to reach high temperature utilizing "solar concentrators" in order to produce vapor and to action a turbine then generating power;
  • Wind energy: wind energy is converted in mechanical energy by aerogenerators, that can be finally used to generate electric energy or something else;
  • Biomasses Energy: it is produced by organic vegetal materials (urban garbage, ?) thanks to conversion processes like combustion, gassificatio, pyrolisis, fermentation and anaerobic digestion;
  • Sea energy: waves energy and termal gradient between surface and depth energy is used by specials turbines in order to produce electricity.

All these subjects will be treated by professors or experts of our university, you will have a general overview on almost everyone of that fields. Lectures will be sided by company or plant visit that will allow you to expertise with this science. You won't need a specific knowledge to understand lectures, it's sufficient the basic knowledge of a techical university student and the interest in this subject!!
