If you come by plane, you will probably arrive at Fiumicino main airport called "Leonardo da Vinci". Once in the airport you have to get to the railway station "AIRTERMINAL". It's very simple, go out of the airport, then go up the escalator for the station. Now you can chose from two trains:
1.1)"Leonardo Express Train"(see
black line on the scheme)
This is a direct train to "Termini railway station", One ticket costs Lire 16.000 (EURO 8.26).The train leaves every half hour for "Termini railway station" and take about 32 minutes. Starting at 07.37 a.m. until 10.37 p.m. (For example: 9.07 a.m., 9.37 a.m., 10,07 a.m., and so on…).
Once in "Termini railway station" you have two choices:
1.1.1)On foot(see
green line on the scheme)
Look for the main ticket office of the station, it's on the same
level as you, so you don't have to take any stairs. Go there, in
this place there is the main entrance of the station, big glass
wall and high ceiling, go out of the station, in front of you there
is a big square with many taxis and busses, "Piazza Dei Cinquecento".
Look for Via Cavour (Cavour street), you'll find it on
your left when giving your back to the main entrance, next to a
traffic light. Go down the street (see
green line on the scheme), in 10 minutes you'll
reach the "MEETING POINT" (see
green area on the scheme).
1.1.2)By metro(see blue dotted line on the scheme)
You can catch it just inside "Termini railway station".
Go down the stairs and take the metro "LINE B", your train
is the one headed toward "Laurentina metro station". Jump
out of the metro after one stop at "Cavour metro station" (On
the scheme you'll find Cavour "UP" ). This will take about
5 minutes. Once there go up the stairs, at the top there is the
"MEETING POINT" (see green
area on the scheme), this will take 27 seconds,
if you are quick.
1.2)"Metropolitano FM1 train"(see
red line on the scheme)
This is a local service from Fiumicino airport to Rome (all Rome's stations). One ticket costs Lire 8.000 (EURO 4.13). A train leaves Fiumicino airport for the stations in Rome every quarter of an hour, from 06.27 a.m. to 09.27 p.m. You have to jump out of the train when you'll reach "Ostiense railway station", this will take about 27 minutes and 15 seconds! From "Fiumicino airport"(where you are leaving) and "Ostiense railway station"(where you'll arrive) you'll pass the following stations: "Ponte Galeria", "Muratella", "Magliana", "Villa Bonelli", "Roma trastevere".
1.2.1)Once in "Ostiense railway station"
Go down the stairs and walk for 7-8 minutes through an under
passage to reach the metro station "PIRAMIDE" (see
green dotted line on the scheme). The metro line
is "LINE B" and you have to take the train toward "Rebbibia
metro station". Jump out of the train at "CAVOUR" metro
station (On the scheme you'll find Cavour
"DOWN" ). Once there, get out of the station and go up
the stairs (right or left stairway, take which you want but take
one..!), in front of you there is the "MEETING POINT" (see
green area on the scheme). On your way from "Piramide"
to "Cavour" metro station you'll pass by: "Circo Massimo", "Colosseo".
