Reaching Roma is almost straightforward, the city is well connected with the rest of the country and the main cities of  Europe. The city has two airports: Fiumicino ( Leonardo da Vinci International Airport) and Ciampino and own one of the major railway junction of the country: Termini Station. It is advisable not to trying to enter in Rome on a private car, the traffic is slow, jams are frequent and parking cost is generally high (parking rates are 2.000 Lire per hour, from 8:00 to 23:00, in the neighborhood of the faculty).

Getting to Rome via Airplane:

The airport is located in the borough of Fiumicino (near Rome). The city can be reached by taxi or train. Taxis fares for Fiumicino/Roma trip range from 45.000 to 60.000 Lire, and the following supplements may apply:

  • Trip from Airport to Rome: 10.000 Lire
  • Trip from Rome to the Airport: 14.000 Lire
  • Baggage Supplement: 2.000 Lire
  • Non working days: 2.000 Lire
  • Night service: 5.000 Lire
The trip from the airport lasts about 50 minutes and should never exceed 90 minutes in heavy traffic conditions (rush hours are: 7:30-9:30 and 17:30-19:30). Taxis are yellow or white, supplements  are not showed on the taximeter (and tips are accepted).

The airport has an internal train station, reachable from the various terminals following a path of tapis rulant, elevators and escalators. There a re two types of train:

  • Train to Termini Station: it costs 13.000 Lire and has a frequency of 45 minutes. It stops at Termini Station without any middle stop.
  • The other train stops in the various city stations without stopping at Termini. It costs 7.000 Lire and has a frequency of 15 minutes.
Getting to Rome by train:

Most of the trains to Rome stops at Termini Station. The station is at 15 minutes of walk from the faculty. Once arrived at Termini you can reach the faculty by Taxi, underground or bus.  Besides Termini Stations, Rome has other train stations, check if one of these in nearer to your accommodation.
