Ing.Andrea Cappelli
Born in Rome in 1965, awarded honours degree in Mining Engineering at Rome University "La Sapienza" in 1992. Since 1996 he is a Research Scientist at the Chair of Ore-deposits in the Course of Environmental Engineering in the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
The main Research activities concern the application of Remote sensing techniques and geographic information systems for the evaluation and the characterisation of georesources, the study and appraisal of ornamental rocks, the application of geostatistic techniques in the modelling of environmental phenomena and, lastly, economic geology. He is the author of various publications: memoirs presented at national and international conventions, publications on technical and scientifical magazines and didactical works for university courses.
Since 1994 he is the Italian expert in remote sensing in the joint project “Ornamental Anorthosites of Angola” among University “Agostinho Neto” of Luanda (Angola) and the Universities “La Sapienza” of Rome, Trieste and Siena, in the sphere of the Italian Co-operation with the developing countries.
