
The course will be composed of a series of technical sessions and practical and experimental activities according to the following program:
1st week
Concept and foundations
of remote sensing; characteristics of remote sensing systems; digital image
analysis, image interpretation.
Introduction to
geographic information systems, data input and output, data quality, data
management, GIS analysis functions.
2nd week
Implementing a GIS,
GIS and remote sensing, GPS systems.
Practical and experimental
activities:
- Visit to the Finsiel Company and presentation of the information system created for the management of the viticultural and olivecultural activities on the Italian territory throughout automatic and manual interpretation of airborne images.
- Visit to the ACS Company and presentation of some practical applications through the use of IPS software.
- Visit to the ESRI ITALIA Company and presentation of some practical applications through the use of ARC INFO and ARC VIEW software.
- Visit to the NIKON
Italia Company and presentation of some practical digital photogrammetry
applications, through the use of Nikon STEREOVIEW 300 software; differential
fieldwork applications with the geodetic TRIMBLE GPS system.
