Space technology in Rome
Why are we proposing a course in Space Technology?
Because we know what we are talking about!
Italy has seen the growth of the astronautics since its first steps, in fact it was the third country (after U.R.S.S. and U.S.A.) to launch a working satellite in orbit, completely made in Italy and by an Italian platform. This astronautical spirit is still living in Rome, where satellites and launchers are currently designed and made by our University.
Let us introduce the voyage through space technology…are you ready?... keep strong… we are starting!!!...3…2…1..GO!!!
At once an historical view of astronautics: we will meet all the pioneers who went over prejudices and dangers and made our dream possible. And if we say “meet”, we mean that we will have access to special and hidden documents, that will help us to understand the very first steps of mankind to space adventure.
Discussing the role of the man in space exploration, we will learn about Zero-Gravity and space life experiences. The special guest will be an Italian Astronaut, Umberto Guidoni, who will tell us his extraordinary experience of life in the International Space Station..
…And looking at the stars we can’t miss the opportunity to visit an astronomical observatory profiting by the direct observation of the night sky over Rome.
We will also study the development of a space experiment, starting with its conception, passing through its complete accomplishment and ending with the scientific results: we will meet the main actor of the first experiment which sent laser beam from earth to space, pointing the International Space Station. He will be our guide in this fantastic adventure that will help us to understand the complexity and fascinating beauty of the space.
