Describing a BEST event is always hard...because there is a special feeling in participating, unique of a kind and labeling elusive...24 hours a day for an average of 10 days,you'll be get into a multicultural environment where your roommate could be a siberian Russian or a smiling Portuguese; you'll learn knowing all the participants, their characteristics and their stories, coming into contact with other cultures while making others knowing the yours.
 Daily paces are always fast, local organizers ensure planning every moment of the day, with the aim of teaming up each other and making the best use of the time of the Event. Mornings are usually devoted to lectures held by local university professors. Teaching is informal and geared to be followed by a heterogeneous audience and to give a picture of the subject as concrete and challenging as possible. There are almost always visits in institutions (like companies, laboratories, etc...) to have proof of the latest research in the field;in that environment, you can compare the different teaching styles and the possibilities offered by European universities. Cultural activities abound. By the "City Rally", which allows you to discover the places in the city,to every type of pastime, which the organizers have in mind, always aimed to make participants growing up "spiritually". And finally..the night. If you have been fed during the day of culture and team spirit, during the "made in BEST" partys you will make best use of that spirit and of all your energies; fun is guaranteed, and at the end even the most shy participant becomes a wild dancer...
 All this certainly does not totally describe the experience of a BEST course, because each of us lives it in a different way, appreciating different aspects and interacting with the group in a particular way; this is another of the values of our association, the total open-mindedness towards all contribution, every character and every culture, because we think everyone can find its rightful place and has full right to speak ... every idea is evaluated positively in BEST, debated and tested, from the technical to the craziest!
About more practical aspects: each event is entirely organized by Local BEST Group, composed of university students, and financially dependent on the LBG; this means that participants do not have to neither bear the costs of board or lodging,nor for each activity during the event... the only costs that participants are required to pay are given by the round trip to the destination, and the various "extra", or purely personal expenses (from souvenirs to extra beers during the evening...).In addition, some courses have a fee, which is a symbolic figure who can be anything up to € 45.
Concerning the didactic part, at the end of each course all participants will incur a small test to assess, in order to verify what they have learned from the lessons. Then the Local Group will issue a CIF confirming participation in the course and content covered, signed by the teacher and by the LBG president.
The BEST Spirit
 It is the common will that animates every good member of our association ... the desire to learn, discover and visit new places, without borders and bias.It is the desire to go beyond the simple university scheme, breaking the routine and proving to ourselves first the great young students potential, who are able to manage a group as large as a multinational, always smiling and never losing the desire to have fun...Following our motto: "Work hard, party harder!" we carry out our projects and our experience knowing how much they enrich us ... we are avid travelers, backpackers, terminals visitors, hostels and sleeping bags funs, but not limited to...We see BEST as a "greenhouse" in which is possible refining and developing our "business" and technical skills...starting by international public relations, to the knowing how to work in a group,from virtual communication,to marketing, planning, structuring and organizing sometimes very large events; We can grow our management skills in a completely informal enviroment, with the ultimate aim to realize our passions! Having fun, travelling, learning and understanding the realities of the world in which we live.In short, for the average BEST member dreams and fun are a serious work!
Participate!
The seasonal pattern of participation in BEST external events is very simple:
- BEST membership is not needed! That is an independent and voluntary step...courses are provided as a service to all students.
- The basic requirement for participation is rather to be currently enrolled in a scientific faculty at a university where BEST is present.
- Go to the website and check the list of courses for the current season (and the deadlines to apply)
- Create your BEST account (in a few easy steps)
- Choose and apply up to a maximum of 3 destinations (for courses "On Technology") [Applications for participation are mutually exclusive. What matters is the order in which to place the cities!]
- Click [Apply Now] and fill out the online form to apply (Within the Deadline!)
- The "motivation letter" and the other questions required will be the only selection criterion for participants in the course! Then write in your best English and be original! In order to get an idea, look at our Guide: How to write a Motivation Letter.
- You have to validate your account to enable your application being visible to the local group of destination...you have to visit us in one of our meeting points to validate your account, and bring a copy of tuition fees as proof of your current subscription.
- You will have news within a couple of weeks after the deadline about the outcome of your questions via email, or directly from the web page of your BEST account.
- ...pack your bags and buy the ticket!!! = D
